Seaweed Bead Earrings
Seaweed grows in a colour range most people have never stopped to look at: the burnt amber of dulse, the translucent green of sea lettuce, the golden brown of sugar kelp. Jasmine Linington has spent years hand-harvesting these species from the southeast coast of Scotland, preserving them in eco-resin, and suspending them inside recycled sterling silver hoops so the colour of the ocean can travel with you.
Every few months, a new colour. Every piece, the coast of Scotland.
Jasmine is a slow textile artist trained at Edinburgh College of Art, working entirely with seaweed she forages herself. The eco-resin that holds each bead is made in England from bio-based renewable materials, using less energy during production than conventional resin. Each hoop is handmade, meaning no two are identical.
